Posting a care request or creating a professional profile on Maple Care is free. You only pay when you choose to buy a lead to get the other side's contact details. Leads are bought with credits, and the price of each lead is shown before you buy, so you always know the cost first.

Is it free to post a care request or create a profile?
Yes. Clients post requests for elder, child, property or pet care for free, and care professionals create their profiles for free. Getting alerts, uploading certifications and earning badges are part of your account. You only pay if you decide to buy a lead to get someone's contact details and reach out.
How does paying for a lead work?
Leads are bought with credits. When you open a request or profile you want to act on, the price of that lead is shown before you confirm. Once you buy it, you get the other side's contact details and can reach out. Professionals usually buy client requests, and clients can also buy a professional's lead.
The work itself, including rates, is agreed directly between the client and the professional. Professionals set their own rates, and Maple Care is not a party to that agreement.
What affects the price of a lead?
The price depends on the lead. For a client request, a key factor is how many hours the client can guarantee, since a request with more guaranteed hours usually means more work. Whatever the price, it is shown on the lead before you buy, and nothing is charged until you confirm the purchase.
Why does each request have a buyer limit?
Each request shows how many professionals may buy it and how many already have. The client sets the limit, with a minimum of 5. We suggest twice the number of people needed, or 5 for one person. The limit helps professionals judge their chances and decide whether a lead is worth buying.
Can I get my credits back if a lead is bad?
If a lead's contact details turn out to be fake or unreachable, you can ask for your credits back, unless that lead already carried a verified badge. Write to [email protected] with the details of the lead. Credits are not returned for other reasons, such as a client choosing someone else.

Do clients ever have to pay?
Posting a request is free, and many clients never pay anything: they wait for professionals to buy their lead and contact them. Clients pay only if they choose to buy a professional's lead to contact them first. The price is shown before they buy.
Does buying a lead guarantee that I get the work?
No. Buying a lead gives you the contact details so you can reach out. Other professionals may buy the same request, up to its buyer limit. Maple Care does not guarantee that anyone is hired or any work results, so a clear, prompt and friendly first message matters.
Does Maple Care take part of what I charge my clients?
You set your own rates and agree them directly with each client. Maple Care is not a party to the agreement between client and professional. What you pay Maple Care is the price of the leads you choose to buy, shown before each purchase.
If I need three caregivers, what buyer limit should I set?
We suggest twice the number of people you need, so for three people a limit of 6. If you need one person, the minimum of 5 applies. A higher limit means more professionals can contact you, while a lower one makes your lead more appealing to buy.
