Families use Maple Care to find babysitters for evenings and weekends, nannies for regular weekday care, help before and after school, and sitters for occasional or short-notice care. Each professional describes the services they offer and sets their own rates, so read each profile and confirm what they can do.

How do I post a child care request?
Describe the care you need, the ages of your children, your city, the schedule, how many hours you can guarantee and how many sitters you need. Posting is free. Your request is shown without your name, address, email or phone number, and matching professionals get an email or text alert about it.
Each request shows a buyer limit: how many professionals may buy it. You set it, with a minimum of 5. We suggest twice the number of people you need, or 5 if you need one sitter. Professionals also see how many have already bought it.
A professional who buys your lead gets your contact details and reaches out to you. From there, you and the sitter talk and agree on the care between you.
How do badges help me compare babysitters and nannies?
Our team reviews every account after sign-up, and accounts that pass get a verified badge. Babysitters and nannies can also upload certifications such as first aid or a vulnerable sector check, and each one our team checks earns a badge on their profile. Badges help you compare, but they do not replace your own checks.
Child care businesses can also show badges for how many people they have hired and how many families they serve. Read more on our trust and safety page.
How do I choose a babysitter or nanny safely?
Maple Care does not hire or manage sitters and is not a party to your agreement, so the checks are up to you. Interview each person, call references from other families and ask for a current vulnerable sector check, the police check for work with children, before anyone cares for your child.

Posting a request is free for families. Professionals pay to buy your lead, and they set their own rates for the care, which you agree with them directly. If you would rather contact a sitter first, you can buy their profile lead yourself. The price is always shown before you buy.

Does Maple Care screen babysitters before they contact me?
No. Our team reviews every account after sign-up and checks the certifications sitters upload, which is what the badges show. That is a helpful signal, not a full screening. Before anyone cares for your child, interview them, call their references and ask to see a current vulnerable sector check.
Will sitters see my name, address or details about my children?
Your name, address, email and phone number are never shown on a request, and your location appears by city only. Describe your children in general terms, such as their ages. A professional who buys your lead gets your contact details, and you share more once you are comfortable.
Can I find a French-speaking babysitter or nanny?
Yes. Maple Care works in English and French. Mention the language you want your children cared for in when you describe your needs, so professionals know before deciding to buy your lead. Confirm it again when you interview each sitter.
Can I post a request for occasional babysitting?
Yes. Requests can be for a single evening, a few hours a week or regular full-time care. Be clear about how many hours you can guarantee, because sitters use it to decide whether to buy your lead. Short, clear requests tend to be easier for sitters to answer.
What should I ask a babysitter or nanny in an interview?
Ask about their experience with children the same age as yours, how they handle discipline, meals and screen time, what they would do in an emergency and when they are available. Ask for references and a current vulnerable sector check, and agree on the rate before the first visit.
Can I contact a sitter directly instead of waiting?
Yes. If a profile catches your eye, you can buy that professional's lead to get their contact details and reach out first. The price is shown before you buy. The profile shows their badges, services and city, but not their name or contact details until you buy.
