How do I join Maple Care as a pet sitter or dog walker?
Sign up free and create a profile describing the pet care you offer, the animals you are comfortable with, your city, experience, languages and availability. Our team reviews every account after sign-up, and accounts that pass get a verified badge. Your profile never shows your name, address, email or phone number, only your city.

Which badges can I earn as a pet sitter?
Every account that passes our team's review gets a verified badge. Upload any certifications you hold, such as pet first aid or animal care training, and each one our team checks earns its own badge on your profile. Owners trust you with their pets and often their keys, so badges help them feel confident contacting you.
Pet care businesses can also show badges for how many people they have hired and how many clients they serve. You can store your resume and certificates in your account.
How do I read a pet owner's request?
Each request shows the type of pet care, the city, the dates or schedule, how many hours are guaranteed and how many people the owner needs. It also shows the buyer limit, meaning how many professionals may buy that lead, and how many already have. These details help you decide whether the request is worth buying.
The owner sets the buyer limit, with a minimum of 5. The price of each lead is shown before you buy and depends on the lead, for example the guaranteed hours.

What happens after I buy a pet care lead?
You get the owner's contact details and reach out yourself. Maple Care provides message templates for pet care to help you start the conversation. Offer to meet the owner and the pet first. You then agree the schedule, care routine, key handover and your rates directly. Maple Care is not a party to that agreement and does not guarantee the work.
Owners can also buy your profile lead to contact you first. Email and text (SMS) alerts tell you when a new matching request is posted.
Who sets my rates for pet sitting and dog walking?
You do. As an independent care professional, you set your own rates and agree them directly with each owner, whether it is a daily walk, a weekend of drop-in visits or overnight sitting. Maple Care does not set rates or take part in your agreement. Clear rates in your first message help the owner decide quickly.

Do I need certifications to offer pet care on Maple Care?
No. You can join and build a profile without any certifications. Describe your experience with animals clearly, including your own pets or volunteering. Any certifications you upload, such as pet first aid, earn badges once our team checks them, and badges help owners choose who to contact.
Which badges can owners see on my pet care profile?
Owners see your verified badge once our team has reviewed your account, plus a badge for each certification we have checked. Pet care businesses can also show badges for how many people they have hired and how many clients they serve.
Can I offer pet care and other types of care?
Yes. Your profile can cover several care types: elder care, child care, property care and pet care. You get alerts for new matching requests in each type you offer, and your badges appear wherever clients see your profile.
Is my name shown to owners before they buy my lead?
No. Profiles never show your real name, address, email or phone number, and your location appears by city only. An owner gets your contact details only if they buy your lead, and you get theirs when you buy their request. If both sides buy, both have the contact details.
What if a pet owner's contact details are fake?
If the contact details on a lead you bought turn out to be fake or unreachable, write to [email protected] and ask for your credits back. This does not apply if the lead already carried a verified badge when you bought it.
Do I need a vulnerable sector check for pet care?
It is not usually needed for pet care on its own, though owners may ask about references since you will often hold their keys. If you also offer elder care or child care, clients there will usually ask for a current vulnerable sector check; upload it to your account to earn a badge.
