Care platforms in Canada, compared
The right care platform in Canada depends on how you want to hire and pay. Membership sites such as Care.com and NannyServices.ca charge a subscription to contact caregivers. Care Possible in Manitoba and Carelynk arrange and handle payment for care. Maple Care is free to post and has no subscription: you pay only for the contacts you choose to buy.

What kinds of care platforms are there in Canada?
Care platforms in Canada work in three main ways. Membership sites let you post for free but charge a monthly fee to contact caregivers. Managed platforms take payment through the platform, often for a service fee, and may match you with a caregiver themselves. Pay-per-contact marketplaces such as Maple Care have no membership and charge only when you choose to contact someone.
- Membership: Care.com, NannyServices.ca
- Managed booking and payment: Care Possible (Manitoba), Carelynk
- Pay per contact, no membership: Maple Care
How does Maple Care work?
Maple Care is a Canadian marketplace for elder care, child care, property care and pet care, in English and French, in every province. Posting a request or a professional profile is free. Names and contact details stay private until someone buys the offer with credits, at a price shown first. Each request has a buyer limit, so a client is not contacted by dozens of people.
- No membership or subscription; one credit is $1, plus tax
- Many clients pay nothing: professionals buy their request and reach out
- Our team reviews every account; certifications earn badges
- Two-way reviews between clients and professionals
- You agree the work and pay the professional directly; Maple Care does not handle care payments
How do Care.com and NannyServices.ca work?
Care.com and NannyServices.ca are membership sites. On Care.com, joining as a guest is free and you can post a job, but messaging caregivers requires a paid Premium membership whose plans vary by area. On NannyServices.ca, the free Basic membership lets families post jobs and send one first message; seeing contact details and talking freely needs Premium, which its FAQ says starts at $9 a month and renews automatically.

How does Care Possible work?
Care Possible is a non-profit online marketplace run by Manitoba Possible for self and family managed home care in Manitoba, listing home care in Winnipeg and Brandon. Care providers are independent and pass four background checks. Clients book and pay through the platform, and its FAQ says the service fee is at most 10% of the agreed hourly or overnight rate, including GST.
How does Carelynk work?
Carelynk, based in Halifax, describes itself as a healthcare workforce platform: it fills shifts at healthcare facilities and also offers home care, where it matches a family with a local caregiver after a free virtual assessment. Carelynk says its caregivers are background-checked and insured through Carelynk. Its site does not publish prices.
Which care platform should I choose?
Choose by how you want to hire. If you want someone else to pick the caregiver and handle payment, a managed service such as Carelynk, or Care Possible in Manitoba, fits. If you will contact many caregivers over months, a membership can make sense. If you want to stay private, choose who contacts you and pay no subscription, Maple Care fits.
Whatever you choose, interview the person, call references and, for elder or child care, ask for a current vulnerable sector check. We checked each platform’s own public pages in September and October 2026; plans and prices change, so check their sites for current terms. Maple Care is not affiliated with any platform on this page.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a free caregiver platform in Canada?
Several let you post for free. On Maple Care, posting a request or profile is free and there is no subscription; many clients pay nothing because professionals buy their request and reach out. Membership sites let you post for free but charge to message caregivers.
Which care platforms work in French?
Maple Care works fully in English and French, from the site to request alerts, across Canada. Check other platforms’ sites for the languages they offer.
Do care platforms do background checks?
It varies. Care Possible says its providers pass four checks, and Carelynk says its caregivers are background-checked. On Maple Care, our team reviews every account and checks uploaded certifications, which earn badges; a badge is not a background check, so always ask for a current vulnerable sector check.
Does Maple Care handle payment for care?
No. Maple Care charges only for the contacts you buy. The client and the professional agree the rate and pay each other directly, so there is no service fee on care hours.
